Between May 2012 and April 2015, Freyssinet took part in the project aimed at improving the road infrastructures for the Port of Dammam in Saudi Arabia. The programme included the construction of a 2.3 km viaduct that prolongs Dammam's Coastal Road and straddles the extremely busy Port Road and the railway line serving the port. A construction method never before seen in Saudi Arabia was used for this precast segmental bridge, which was erected by means of a launching gantry.
Freyssinet France teams recently completed repair works for Ajaccio's commercial port. On the agenda in this major project: reprofiling, shotcrete reinforcement and application of impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection on the Capucins and Trois Marie breakwaters.
During Christmas 2015, Freyssinet successfully slid a concrete bridge beneath the line of the Immingham to Ulceby railway line (England).
The Association Eugène Freyssinet, with sponsorship from Freyssinet, is organising the third Eugène Freyssinet Trophy awards. Among others, these awards will recognise students from French institutions and universities who have designed works that further the art of building.
